Assistant Controller Job Responsibilities and Skill Requirements:
Responsible for complex payroll administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting, including support of month end closings.  Maintaining and improving financial and operational reporting systems with adherence to  accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in a high functioning, fast-paced, management environment with lean staff, requiring expert-level Excel and QuickBooks skills. Five years’ related experience.  Salary of $60K.


Assistant Controller Job Duties:

  • Administers complex commission structured payroll for 200 employees in rapidly growing, fast past-paced management environment.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, post daily cash receipts and disbursements, and maintain internal controls over cash.
  • Maintain Accounts Receivable ledger, forecast weekly cash receipts.
  • Maintain Accounts Payable ledger, forecast weekly cash disbursements.
  • Assist in producing regular, timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements, including creating and posting journal entries for payroll and other transactions
  • Prepare and maintain complex, weekly, key performance metric reports.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls, including PO system, basic cash receipt and cash disbursement processes.
  • Assists Cash Manager Treasurer as needed providing complete and accurate data.
  • Assists in the preparation of budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Prepares special project reports and analyses by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Expert-level Excel Skills, Managing Processes, QuickBooks Software, Developing and Designing Internal Controls, Audit, Accounting, Tracking Budget Expenses, Financial Skills, Analyzing Information, Developing Budgets, Performance Management, Five Years’ Related Experience
